We left the guesthouse at 7am to have breakfast in Gilgil. Afterward we arrived at Hell’s Gate National Park to pick up bicycles. We pedaled a 8km gravel path past warthogs, zebra, gazelles, giraffes and baboons. There were no fences. Nothing separated us from the wild animals. It was amazing and dusty as hell. My hair was a different color by the end.

We parked the bikes and then continued on an one hour-ish hike through the gorge. Parts of Temple of Doom were filmed there. It also inspired infamous scenes in The Lion King. Touched water from a hot spring and rubbed green algae on our hands. It really softens your skin. At the end, a few baboons appeared.

To finish we had lunch near Lake Naivasha. More beautiful scenery and cows. A physically taxing day that was totally worth it.
