Lekanders Bär och Boende serves a full Swedish spread for breakfast so all the guests are in the dining room from 8 to 10am. Bread and jams. Butter! Cured meats and cheese. Sliced vegetables like bell peppers. Fruit, yoghurt and granola. With coffee and tea, of course.

Guests can walk down to the farm to pick strawberries. I gathered a pint. And ate the whole thing in one afternoon. They were small and sweet and fragrant.

Hopped on the bike again to ride to dinner. Brian said it’s called “mot-vind” in Swedish. Translates to “adverse wind”. That’s what I’m dealing with on Tjörn. 22mph. Head on. Feels great with the bright, high sun but it is also unforgiving.
