Rode the bike 30 minutes west to the area of Skähamn. More inclines and constant mot-vind. And more art

This is the Nordic Watercolour Museum and the primary reason why I added Bohuslän (this west coast area) to my itinerary. I have been thinking this place for over year after I saw it on Design Mom’s blog. I went through a watercolour phase a few years ago so I was pumped.

See those three structures to the left? Residency studios. How cool would it be to live and create there for a while?

#TooLateToChangeMyMajor

The main exhibit featured work by Arne Isacsson, a founder of Nordiska Akvarellmuseet. Soft blues. Deep grays reflecting the surrounding terrain. Ochre tones. Some texture from using the monochrome technique (totally new to me). Really good.

Examples of monochrome technique

I walked behind the museum to cool rock formations and just watched boats sail in and out.

Then I went next door to Port Sud for a big bowl of mussels and a cidre.
