The city of Stockholm is 14 islands, not one continuous landmass. Additionally, there are over 20,000 islands off the eastern coast comprising the archipelago. Every guide book, to-do list and local suggests a ferry tour or overnight trip.
We boarded a ferry for Grinda around 10am. Open sky and water and coastal towns.
We disembarked at Grinda Norra bryggan, on the northern end of the island, then walked along the nature path. I couldn’t get a good picture of the sheep. There were sheep on island. Also passed campers and the sole hotel on Grinda, where we had dinner – Grinda Wärdhus.
Once back in Stockholm, we walked the old town (Gamla Stan) and popped in some cute shops. We ended the evening in Södermalm eating ice cream and walking against the evening wind.
