This is Planes, rockets, and the spaces in between by Amy Sherald. It’s currently on display at the Baltimore Museum of Art. I like the color palette and the shadows. The tufts of smoke stacked beneath the rocket. Barefoot spectators.

Could you look away from a machine hurtling into the sky? What would pull your attention away from the launch and make you turn around?  A person, a sound?
